seanbaker Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 anyone know how to program the ADSR on this? I know how to program it, but I don't know the order of the parameters? Attack, Delay, Sustain, Release, vibrato, tremolo, voice select. Anyone know where I can download a manual for this piece of antiquity?

Attack, Delay, Sustain, Release, vibrato, tremolo, voice select.Attack - The time lag between playing the note, and the note reaching full volume. A low number gives you instant response, like a plucked string or struck mallet. A high number will give you a slow fade-in. Decay (not delay, I believe) - Determines how quickly or slowly the note will fade after peaking. A low number will get a quick fade like a marimba or banjo. A high number will make a long, slow fade like a low piano string. Sustain - Sets the volume the note will "settle" on after decaying. A low number will fade the note into silence. A high number will sustain the note for as long as you hold the note. Release - Determines how quickly or slowly the note will fade out after you release the key. A low number will stop the note immediately as you release the key. A higher number will cause the note to fade out more slowly after you release the key. Vibrato - A rhythmic fluctuation in pitch. Tremolo - A rhythmic fluctuation in volume (Fender guitars and amps have these last two terms reversed! ) Voice select - I assume this just chooses which sound (patch, program, tone, voice, etc.) you will be playing. As for getting a manual, good luck. Even the big manufacturers don't go far out of their way to support their older instruments. They'd rather sell you one of their new ones. seanbaker Posted August 13, 2002 Author Posted August 13, 2002 Thanks. I know what the parameters mean. I just don't know which order they are programmed on the VL-tone. The way it works is you enter in an 8 digit code to program a sound. I need to know which digits represents which values (attack, decay, sustain, release, etc.).
