Jesse Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 I'm new to this board but would just like to share that we've just purchased the new Virus C....killermachine, even when compared to the B. Regards, Jesse
RABid Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 I've had my eye on this. If we get a bonus at work this September (and it does not look good this year) then my plan is to get one. Robert This post edited for speling. My Sweetwater Gear Exchange Page
mildbill Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 i got a virus c recently, and while it has some excellent features and sounds fantastic, it also has some serious drawbacks. for starters, the manual is about the worst i've ever seen. of all the gear i've bought, this is the first time i've ever considered writing the manufacturer over the crap quality of the manual (and i've seen some bad ones). everything is disorganized, pieces are put into the wrong sections, references are made to non-existents, it switches from english to german, just when you want know something, and is generally just pure garbage. from reading at other sites, i've heard of several people who just plain gave up on it. if i didn't have as much experience with synths as i do, i'd be tempted to throw it in a dumpster. lots of people feel the company has misreprresented the amount/type of effects that can be used, but this is not an issue for me. but oh, that sound and those features make it all worth it in the end.
Jesse Posted August 9, 2002 Author Posted August 9, 2002 Mildbill, Since we also work with the B we've never even opened the manual. So I couldn't agree or disagree. I do recall using the manual on the B a lot, so if the C manual sucks...some people might have a problem. All I know is that the sound is incredibly fat! The cut offs and lfo's remain stable and you can take things even deeper than before. Regards, Jesse
