JimmieWannaB Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Is anyone else having problems with Native Instruments B4 and Windows XP? Mine runs fine until I close the program which locks up my PC requiring reboot. Other than for extreme latency, it ran fine on my 700 MHz P3 laptop and Win 98. My problem is with a 1.8 GHz P4 desktop running XP with 512M RAM.
daBowsa Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 i've only had that happen to me once, but i have seen it. i'm running XP on a PII 350, ha - i need to get a new machine! just make sure you do a clean install and keep all the crap off that you'll never use. if you just bought a new computer, you should have all the CD's corresponding to the software installed on your computer - why not wipe the hard drive clean and install programs *as you need them* instead of dell or compaq determining what lives on your machine. (i'm not saying this is your problem, but secret unknown background processes is a safe guess for weird computer hang-ups, etc.)
Gus Lozada Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 Which drivers are you using, Jimmy? Try all of them... MME's, Direct Sound's... ASIO's specifically written for your sound card... Maybe there it is the problem. DJDM Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 Looks like you posted this question several days ago and if you are still struggling with it I would go to musicxp.net. This is a phenominal web site dedicated to tweeking XP for music apps! Actually I would stop by there anyway just to help improve your system. Nothing but gold there! - DJDM DJDM.com
