Ok, so I've just about decided to get the Aardvark Q10 as my soundcard and it comes with Cakewalk pro audio 9, but I can't find out what that is anywhere...I though sonar replaced cakewalk after v8, so is pro audio 9 sonar 1.0 or something else? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

PA 9 is the last version of Cakewalk (9.03 to be precise). It's a very stable and usable Cakewalk.

Sonar is very different. The most trumpeted changes are DXi instruments and realtime effects monitoribg, if you got the computer for it. They've also altered their mixing paradigm quite a bit from what I can tell, but I haven't used Sonar.

I don't know Nuendo, so I can't compare. Sonar sort of represents Cakewalk's response to Cubase by virtue of the DXi support.

Yes, you can use VST effects and instruments in Sonar via a VST to DX adapter. FXpansion makes one, and there are several others. I can't attest to how well they work, or how they affect CPU usage, but it seems that they do work.

I forgot to mention that Sonar also has loop tools like Acid.
