Rick K. Posted July 7, 2002 Posted July 7, 2002 I saw this thread posted back in February and had some new info. Midiman, or M-Audio, is releasing a new wireless product called a MidAir supposedly at the end of this month. Here's a link to harmony central: http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM02/Content/Midiman/PR/MidAir.html Anyway, I'm going to check this out when it is available on the shelves to couple with an AX7. Both our guitar and bass player are wireless and have way too much fun! Rick
sevush Posted July 8, 2002 Posted July 8, 2002 It would be cool but I can't find any info on their site today (July 8) - any current info?
Felix_dup1 Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 I believe it's been delayed - not expected for another 8-10 weeks.
Rick K. Posted July 9, 2002 Author Posted July 9, 2002 I received some correspondence from some guy at M-Audio just last week regarding this. He was pretty certain about the release. I'll let you know more as I obtain more info! Rick
Laurie Z. Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 Hey everybody! Been all over the place and out of the conversation for way too long. When it comes to wireless MIDI, I feel like the old hand...I used wireless MIDI in the early 90's daily for several years on stage at Disneyland, and yes, it was the MIDIMan wireless MIDI unit piggybacked to a Samson wireless (I believe). It worked great (except when it didn't, which was usually either when my battery was too old or I was jumping up and down too much!). I used a Yamaha KX5 remote keyboard along with a midi router for my keyboards. MIDIMan is a very cool company, and they worked with me to actually make a special hardwired unit that wouldn't go haywire when I jumped around. They actually called me their "Zeta tester" (meaning, if it passed me, it could pass anyone). Anyway, I loved it and still use it on occasion for outdoor shows. If they've got a new unit coming out, I'd say it's worth a check - they do good work. Good luck! lz www.lauriez.com
