Terrorism -- Was that what happened at LAX yesterday??

The Gub-ment says there's no reason to believe that the shootings were an act of terrorism...

Let's see, an Arab man kills 2 at the El AL Israeli airline counter, hmmm I guess that's not terrorism right? I guess when it happens the same way at the same counter in other countries it's only terrorism then because it happens....over there. Hellllloooooooo....Just because it's probably not connected to Bin Laden doesn't mean it's not terrorism! Right?

Anyway, Is this the beginning of phase 2 of the terrorist attacks, focusing primarily on Jewish targets? Is it a new group of terrorists with a new US terrorism agenda?? Or, is it just 1 terrorist.

You scared?

I was initially when I'd also heard about the small plane crashing into a group of picnickers in relatively the same area, but I was relieved to find out it was unrelated. Wasn't it?!

What do you guys think??

It seems like it wasn't so much terrorism as a guy-loses-it-and-goes-on-a-rampage deal. Evidently the guy's upstairs neighbor hung American and Marine Corps flags off his balcony which happened to be right above the gunman's apartment's front door. The gunman took it as a demonstration against him personally (which it may have been), lost it, and went to LAX with two pistols and a knife, and killed and wounded a bunch of people. I suppose that could be considered terrorism, but I think looney with a gun is a better description.

As far as the plane crash, I didn't hear the story until they knew what had happened. I know the pilot died, but I can't help the guy blew it when he piloted his stricken craft into a group of kids. Oh, well, rest in peace to the guy anyway.

Scared? Hell no! I'm with Patrick Henry: give me liberty or give me death.

Sounds very logical postman, I just found it ironic that the El AL people say the same thing has happened at there counters overseas before, and it was terrorism then and now according to them.....That and the whole 4th of July thingy.

prog

Now THAT's a problem!!

One thing I will say about the media, they have been telling us that security is still laxed despite all the changes.

Expect a lot of travelers to lose there confidence, followed by a shitstorm of more security changes.

No man, we are just entering a new world. Remember the movie "Judge Dred"? Kcbass

It's all just playing with semantics. Terorrism, guerilla warefare, hate crime...

It's a sick and fucked up event and Israel and the FBI are essentially both right. Different choice of words.

Our government will do all it can to protect us from the very thought that the suicide bomber tactics in the middle east has made it's way here. We are a beautiful amazing free country, and no amount of security can protect us from every scenerio.

Live the life you love - terrorists be damned.

I think it was an act of terrorism. The killer stated to some of his employees (as reported on the news tonight) that he hated Israelis. Now, not to say for sure that he was Muslim, but he had a Muslim-type name.

There is no such thing as a "Hate Crime." ALL crimes are hate crimes. Someone hates that you have more than they, are better off than they, or anything else that makes them want to take something from you, or hurt you.

When someone goes somewhere and tries to kill a particular race or people, they are terrorists.

Am I worried? No. I have 14 rounds of hollowpoint 9mm in my SIG-Sauer P228, or 11 rounds of 10mm hollowpoint in my Bren Ten with me at all times. I am prepared to use it to protect myself and any that are dear to me.

Might sound a bit paranoid, but I guess that's what happens after living in the glorious South for a couple of years.

Can't say I disagree with you there. Any crime is indeed a hate crime. However, I would still wait and see what the investigation yields before calling it an act of terrorism. Would this be called terrorism if it was race related. Somehow I doubt it. Calling it terrorism if it was just a guy going postal (and yes he was a muslim), makes it that cause it spreads fear, which is the ultimate aim of terrorism.
