Different tempo for each channel in GM?

Hello everyone.

I have a short question.

Can I assign different tempos(or tempo curves) to each midi channel in GM? What about GS or XG?

If it is possible, could you tell me how to do it..

I want to make one channel plays faster while the other one slows down. I can play and record faster and slower, but I also want to have nice looking notation from that midi file.

Thank you.

That doesn't make any sense.

A song has a specific tempo, which varies with time according to the feel of the song.

What you can do, is to stretch or compress the data on each channel separately. There's a limitation on doing this with audio, but with midi you can go back and forth as you please.

How you do this depends on the sequencer you are using.
