The art stuff is pretty lousey. Not bad by itself, but stack some tracks and you've definately got the 'building up of crud' syndrome going on. Lots of crunchy spitty consonents, nasty sibilence, etc. I do like it better than anything by Meek tho, that stuff is horrorshow. I haven't checked the Pro Channel, but why pay $650.00? Markertek sells em for $539.00. I suspect you'd still have that build up that makes it hard to mix happening. just my 2 cents... I've only got experience with the Dual MP.

Hey ernest828, Thanks for the help. I usually prefer tubes; but am open for whatever sounds good. I just picked up a couple of Joe Meek VC1Q's; (figured i'd give them a spin for the ole 30 day Mars music plan). My budget is pretty descent 1500.00. Im so tired of the middle of the road stuff, but I tell ya, I am really impressed .For an all in one box everything sounds awesome. I like a real colorful pre and compressor. I really dig that dry in your face Brendin O'Brien sound . If you have any more suggestions please indulge me. Thanks Remedy

I have never used any of the ART stuff, so can't comment. I purchased the Peavey VMP-2 for $600 used (I think it's about $800 or so new) and am extremely happy with it. For a cheaper solution, the new Mackie VLZ Pro 1402 for $460 or whatever it sells for has six mic preamps, and they're really not that bad for the money, although they're not as nice as the ads make 'em sound. But then, you knew that, didn't you...? ------------------ Ken/Eleven Shadows/d i t h er/Nectar http://www.elevenshadows.com 4 music, travel, more! http://www.cdbaby.com/elevenshadows
