new ReCycle user needs help

Just got ReCycle 2.0. I'm recording a sample loop from my K2500 into DP3, then converting the audio into an AIFF for opening in ReCycle (is there an easier way?). I'm having problems getting a sliced loop to play back without a "stutter" at each slice point.

 

The AIFF file is a syncopated walking upright bass loop that I'm trying to slow down from 212 bpm to around 160. I get the same problem with a jazz ride cymbal loop. The problem occurs whether the sensitivity is set high or low, and whether the tempo change is less dramatic.

 

CPU power shouldn't be an issue using a G4/450 dual w/256 meg RAM.
