QS8.1 question

I tried searching for the thread that mentioned it, but to no avail.

My question is: What are the features that the QS8.1 has that the QS8.2 will not?

I remember that it has only one card slot instead of two, and no digital outs... but there was more.

thanks

Meanwhile, the catalogs are selling QS8.1's for $999. IIRC, that's also the MAP for the QS8.2's.

So for the same money you can get the 8.1 and add extra outputs, more expansion capability, and aftertouch. Kind of a no-brainer, IMO.

But hey, the QS8.2 has silver paint! Maybe Alesis should re-badge it as the QS7.8! :D

Peace all,

Steve

Yes, it was aftertouch.

That, and the high notes are at the bottom - they are going after the left handed keyboardist market.

OK, just aftertouch, the slots, and the digital IO.

I made the same joke at the Messe, except I called it the QS7.9. :P:D;)

MIA - second card slot, second footpedal input, digital out, aux audio outs, serial port and, yes, aftertouch. Also, it has a cheaper keybed that doesn't feel as good as the earlier models.

Why anyone would buy one when used QS8s and QS8.1s will almost certainly be available for cheaper (with the exact same sound set and MORE features) is beyond me...oh, yeah - and then there's the Yamaha S08 for the same price with more features...and resonance filtering...
