Stasis
Hello everyone. I have wanted to learn how to play the piano for years. However, I cannot afford the cash, nor the space for a piano. So, I feel the next logical step is to go to a keyboard. But! I know nothing about them! I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to give me some thoughts on what models are good to start out with, about how much they think it would cost to break into the hobby and what to watch for when purchasing a keyboard. I figured I should ask the people that play, so there it is. Thanks in advance, Stasis
cg1155
Welcome to the Keyboard forum! There is another thread that is covering this very topic, you can find it here: Pianist\'s Keyboard If you're really interested in learning to play piano (as opposed to wicked synth riffs or whatever) then I would recommend a weighted action keyboard (feels like a piano) with 88 keys (same as a piano). Several models are listed on the above thread, you should expect to pay about ~$1000 to get a new piano keyboard but you can often find them used for less. -Casey
