It takes smart media cards. Are all smart media cards the same? In the manual it says they are available in 4 and 8 mb sizes. Now there are 64 mb smart media cards for cameras and such. No, there's a 3.3 V and 5 V type, AFAIK. Make sure you buy the right type, or you can screw up the host device. I recently bought a smartmedia card for my CS6x and all I had to specify at the electronics store was the 3.3/5 V and the size I wanted. Check the 505 manual. midispaceho Posted January 13, 2002 Author Share Posted January 13, 2002 Just to correct myself. The manual says the 505 accepts 2 and 4 MB cards (not 4 and 8 as I posted). Anyway. I bought a 32 MB card (did not check the voltage though as I had not read the forum to get that last bit of advice)It did not work. I will have to check and see what the voltage is and if it was appropriate. I am desperate to save my data as the machine is getting very quirky and I fear that a total crash may be in the future. It needs to go in for some repairs anyway and I don't want to risk losing everything I have programed into it. It has never really been the same since my wife threw it in a fit of rage - fear the keyboard widow, serriously!
