Wow, I'm impressed. Steadyb is actually funny today. Someone mark down the date so that decades from now, we can all remember that time back in '01 when he said something mildly amusing. ;)

...or perhaps decades from now we'll all just be glad that Jeff finally posted the results for week 16 of the 2001 football pool.

This New Year's Eve was the most potent reminder yet that I'm getting old. Boy had a stomach virus, puking all over. The usual crowd that gathers at my house, to a man, couldn't make it. Several were home tending sick children and sick selves (the northeast is sick right now). Had to wake up at 4 this morning to drive a friend to the airport. Really, I used to be wild. Call it the 39 blues, 'cause if 39 is like 29, it's more traumatic than actually hitting 40. You just feel 40 and begin to accept the reality. By the time 40 hits (next) August, I won't give a damn.

I am getting old.

We had a big dinner with the neighbors, and just watched TV. My friend and I tried to drink some bourbon, but we couldn't even nail a quarter of the bottle. We were just too comfortable...the funny thing is - I kinda liked it...

Oh, well - whaddayagonnado? ;)

Anyway, I'd really like to wish everyone who hangs out here (and everyone who doesn't as well) a happy, prosperous and healthy New Year! You guys rule!

My wife and I had a very romantic New Year's- we worked on a 1000-piece Lord of the Rings puzzle til dawn! Our wedding anniversary is the 27th, so it's kind of a non-stop lower-key celebration from the 25th to the 1st rather than one big blowout. Both my father-in-law and I set long-time records for low alcohol consumption this holiday season, it was a great feeling.

Happy 2002 to everybody- no flying cars or brass bullet-bras, but we're living in the future!

Wait a minute, is this the "I'm Getting Old" thread or the "Happy New Year Thread?" I'm confused. ;)

Either way, I qualify. I turned 43 on December 26th, and I'm having a very happy new year so far. I went to a party last night, hosted by a good friend of mine from Extasy Recording - Tal Miller. Several engineers and programmers who work at Extasy Recording (or who worked at Extasy Recording when it was called One On One) were there. My wife and I had a lot of fun visiting with all and talking about the leaked ProTools documents ! Several of these folks expressed an interest in joining me at the next MusicPlayer dinner .

I had a very busy and great holiday season. I'll have to catch up with you all soon. In the meantime...

Oh, my god.

I feel off today. Yesterday was filled with wine, beer, champagne and whisky. (scotch, of course)

The night was really great and fun.

I came home 5am, woke up at noon, and had to drive 50km back and forth, so now I'm a bit tired, and yes, I also feel old.

Stayed in, drank some Cristalino, and stayed off the streets. (Actually one of the better New Years I've had in a while!)

First working day after New Year's parties.

Here in Argentina, the first day of the year was full of surprises (not really) and complaints by the people. 2002 is going to be hard.

But our problems are nothing compared to worst things that people in the States suffered not long ago and other people are suffering now.

Luckily, I can find some comfort in music.

My best wishes to everybody. Keep in the track of music, as music gives relief to lots of people.

Hey Alejandro - best of luck with everything in Argentina. We've been following closely what's been going on there. (it's been headlines here everyday almost).

I'll be heading over to Buenos Aires in April for a wedding.

Cheers
