Your wife obviously loves you very much. There is no way my wife would let me install a new OS on her machine first.

I've had my Hanukah gifts for about 2 weeks now, which included:

- a $25 Starbucks card

- Sting's "All This Time" (nice piano work from Jason Rebello)

- the 5 CD set from "Ken Burns' Jazz"

- a hands-free earpiece for my cell phone (NY state law requires it while driving...dumb ass law)

- a gift certificate for a massage

But the best was a gift we got for each other...an overnight stay at a spa in the Finger Lakes area this past weekend. Amazing experience.

Gift I'm getting myself: upgrade to DP 3.02

I had much more fun this year watching my 2 1/2 year old kid open stuff. Therefore, I'll list what he got:

- 12 Matchbox cars

- A Fischer-Price car track set with garage

- A large paramedic truck that goes in forward and reverse and has sirens and lights and a winch.

- An RC truck that seems to only go in one direction but goes really, really fast

- A huge "Clifford the Big Red Dog" stuffed animal

- A "Shrek" DVD

- Several other videos...all "PBS Kids" stuff

- A big box of Crayola crayons

- Several coloring books

- Several little books we can read together

- A pair of jeans and a pair of khakis

- A flannel shirt, a beige thermal shirt and a black turtleneck

What did Jeff get? A few nice things...gift certificate to buy my own ass some clothes at Banana Republic, a new game for my Mac, three new shirts. But that all pales compared to watching the boy get into opening his own stuff for the first time this year. Awesome!

Star Wars Episode One on dvd, a Far Side calendar, chocolate river rocks (they look like stones but they are candy, they look really cool) and a big private loan wiped out.

I can actually save for gear again.

I did really good this Christmas:

1. A new Visor Prism color PDA

2. aroma theropy set (which I'm allergic

too...but its the thought that counts

right?)

3. Cash :)

4. Best of all....

A complete Hendrickson family history!

My grandmother has been doing all

sorts of research into our family history

for the past 10 years. She put everything

she found together and made copies for everyone

in a big binder with lots of family trees

and pictures.

Very cool... it would take hours to get

through it all. One cool thing

I found out I didn't know:

I have blood realitives from Chile!

I'm part Latina! :D Interesting stuff...

Not much, I tell ya. Not even some good coal. My wife and I decided to not splurge on each other this year because of, how shall I say, the financial tightrope we always seem to be treading. So we just licensed each other to make a special purchase. I got the Sonic Implants latin percussion sample CD (which is good and featured prominently on my upcoming cover compilation contribution) and she got a two hour cranial sacral massage. My parents gave me a shirt and 100 bucks which I am going to promptly turn in at the Mohegan Sun Casino on saturday (the bucks and maybe the shirt as well!). The inlaws gave me coffee. No books, no CDs, but a bunch of java. So if you guys are feeling sorry for me, here's what I want:

Gigastudio upgrade (from Gigasampler 64)

NI B4

Some new powered monitors. ADAMs ought to suffice.

A tricked out MAC with some MOTU interface and DP (recent PC/Delta 1010 woes are really getting me down. I'm ready albeit entirely unable to switch camps right now--to MAC, Steady but NEVER to the Lakers!)

But there's been plenty of joy, e.g., watching my 4 yr. old son wallow in consumerist bliss and still seem to recognize that Xmas is special 'cause we all love each other so much).

Wow! Congrats. The last time I received an actual instrument for Christmas was...uh...1978, I believe. No, wait, that's wrong. My pop got me an acoustic guitar which I still use to this day in 1986. But still...I'm due next year, I think.

Yeah, that's very cool.

I'm part Latina!

LOL! Despite what this family history may state, you are the whitest white girl I've ever met with the exception of a few albinos. When you look up "latina" in the dictionary, the antonym says "see Valky". ;)

Glad you had a Merry Merry. See you soon.

XBOX! :eek::D:P

Of course, I'm younger than all of you old geezers so I can still enjoy it (just kidding). :D Along with it came Halo and Project Gotham Racing-it's incredible! I highly reccomend it to you gaming freaks out there who sneak off every now and then to get a peek at this legendary system-it's worth it. I've already got all of my U2 CD's burned on it and have been enjoying myself! And the grandparents gave me some money for some serious sheet music shopping! Until then, I'm off to play Halo again! Maybe I'll get past the second level after playing it over and over...

Well I had the best Christmas ever! Extremely low-key, played with the little baby cousins, drank very little but very well.

It's a wonderful feeling when you can look out the window on the snow-covered vinyard from which the wine came.

Got a couple pounds of custom steak tartar from my mother-in-law, some honey liquor, and Infinity (like Reaktor but deeper) was waiting in the mail when we got back on the 26th. It came in a plain package from Canada and I didn't have to pay the 20% customs toll on software from the US as I had expected, so you might say I got an unexpected $50. :D

No stress, some snow, little kids, a perfect holiday.

I also got the Masterbits XXL sample cd collection and some Cds (Joe, Res, Nikka Costa, MTV Unplugged: Jay-Z and The N.E.R.D.S (the Neptunes))...

My girlfriend got me an autographed Darrell Green picture and a nice picture of RFK Stadium (she really appreciates the games I took her to there after a few years at FedEx Field).

I got myself RME Digiface & Multiface and will treat myself to some ADAMs as soon as I can.

Got pretty much spoiled this year.

Got some Givenchy cologne, a jacket from the Gap, and...

the green light from the wife to get a pair of ADAM S2-A's  (hi Dave!)

Well, the green light came before Christmas so it was an early Christmas present but it was great nevertheless. The other gift I had was lots of time to play with my 2 boys over the holidays. I'm looking forward to New Year's Day with them too. :D

My Christmas pales next to my sons. I had fun watching my (nearly) three year old tearing up his mum's careful gift wrapping. He ran panting from gift to gift, unsure what to open next.

He got a slightly used PC from his doting aunt and four train sets from various members of the family. I don't think he can comprehend how privileged he is get gifts like these. But he seemed just as happy to bum a lollipop off me, so I am going put off worrying about consumerism.... for now.

Cheers,

Jerry

Stay away from Cell Damage. First game I bought, and the worst.

Hey Rabid-if you have Xbox, you HAVE to have Halo-right? It's a requirment! Project Gotham Racing's the best racing game in my mind, and I picked up Amped today but haven't played it yet. About that whole "butt-kicking" thing...
