Chord "cheats"?

Do any of you keyboard players have a good site for learning new left hand blues/jazz chords?

Or, just kind of "intermediate" pattern stuff?

I'd appreciate an email (or a response here), if you know of such a place.

Thanks!

A useful site - sort of an online keyboard Grimoire.

I notice it falls into the common error of failing to notice that there is a major and a minor blues scale - it simply gives the minor blues scale as "the" blues scale.

You also might wanna check out:

JAZZ THEORY

JAZZ PIANO

both by Mark Levine .. lotta info in there

BTW: I always thought the "all purpose blues scale " was:

( in a C mode )

C Eb F F# G Bb C .. with maybe an occasional E natural thrown in :)

So, in the key of C the minor blues scale is

C (E flat) F (G flat) G (B flat) C

Now just like the regular minor to major transformation play the same notes starting a minor third higher.

(E flat) F (G flat) G (B flat) C (E flat)

That's the major blues scale of E flat.

Transpose back down to C and you get:

C D (E flat) E G A C

That's the major blues scale on C.
