DSears
I've got a Yamaha CP-70 that's in great condition. I need to sell it but have no idea how much it would be worth. Can anyone tell me what would be a fair price to ask for this piece? Thanks, David S
Jeep
Dave, I'm interested in how you're making out with this. B. B. King was groovin' with, and egging on, his piano man, who was "whippin' the ivories" on a CP70 when I saw them in November. All were vintage and verile. A CP70 is stone simple. Here's your classified ad: Yamaha portable acoustic/electric grand piano. Best offer.
Stephen Fortner
Is it the CP-70B? The model with a "B" at the end tends to stay in tune better. Jeep
Someone may have already bought this sweetheart. They are hard to find. Steve's right. Their astonishing tuning stability was tweaked to be even better than it already was. The CP-70(B) plays beautifully, in part because of its typically excellent Yamaha action, and a naturally smooth mechanical sustain pedal system. They sound pretty darn good as an acoustic, especially with the lid open. The built-in high quality pickups provide a clean true MONO signal that can be easily amplified and recorded. These babies also serve as A)- an unsurpassed stand for any other keyboard and B)- a go-go platform It seems to be too early, in the grand cycle of things, for the CPs to yet be regarded as the classics they're destined to be, IMHO.
