I'm lucky to have an easy-going and cool mother-in-law. Then again she's a nurse in a mental hospital and maybe she's just dealing with me with professional skill... I've heard some very well-done recordings online which were done with SoundBlaster cards, mostly very digital stuff, softsynths and samples, but also a hard-rock group. SB was a great deal for a long time- kind of the VW bug of soundcards- but nowadays the high-end Creative cards cost about the same as cards which are more targeted for recording. Might as well use the gear you've got while thoroughly researching exactly which new card you'll buy. -CB
