remo
Hi All. The K5000s has a four part playable multi, but how do I use it in this mode? The manual is not that great, and it doesnt say anything about using it with a computer sequencer. I use Logic Audio Platinum, AMT8, Kawai K5000s... Also, now that I have the K5K, I was hoping to replace the dumb Roland PC200 & use the K5K as my master controller keyboard. I've used it like this but the problem is when I go to control other modules the sounds are combined. I dont spose there would be a way to cancel out the kawai when controlling other synths but still hearing the recorded sounds of the K5K? Hope I explained that last one right. Tnx in Advance. This means that you disconnect the keyboard from the internal sound engine and only transmit midi data when you play it. This is a feature that all midi synth have (except maybe some very old ones). When you do this (again, i don't know the synth so i can't tell you how or where to do this) the midi data from the keyboard goes into the computer and then thru Logic (you probably have to active a 'midi thru' function for this) goes back to the midi out of the computer but on the midi channel of the currently active channel. This way, you will hear the tracks that you already recorded in logic with the correct sound (providing you setup your modules ok) and you can choose the sound for the part that you want to record by selecting/activating the track you want to record and selecting the correct midi channel and program change for that track. hope this is clear enough for you. remo
Thanks for your reply Ronald. Yes, turning local off solved the problem. Now I can get rid of the Roland. Thanks heaps. Coming to my first issue, I've figured out (allmost all), how to use it in multi however, when ever I go to ch1 it resets it self back to single mode. Also, Im unable to switch to multi mode while in ch1??? surely Im missing somthin obvious. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Tnx again.
