Karaoke/Sound-alike production available!

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm a top notch midi file/karaoke/soundalike producer /engineer here in New York City. I'm seeking a position. I'm a gifted keyboardist/engineer and my work (note for note, sound for sound recreation of all genres of popular music in my Pro Tools studio) is impeccable! If you're interested, I have a CD demo and Mp3s available for your consideration. I've done everything from Alanis Morrisette to U2 and everything in-between (including Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, Pop, Broadway showtunes, R&B, etc...). It's MORE than midi...I do complete finished productions, all instruments included! My turnaround is very fast. Email me if interested. Thanks, Dean (646) 594-0402

BTW / FYI spamming is not encouraged around here... it's normally accepted better if you become more "involved" with the site and give people a chance to get to know you first... but most of the time, it's considered "bad form".

(With thanks to Brakka and Curve for the inspiration ;) ) Hi. I'm a top notch midi file/karaoke/soundalike producer /engineer critic here in Riverside CA. I'm seeking a people to critique. I'm a gifted listener/engineer and my work (note for note, sound for sound analysis of all genres of popular music in my Pro Tools / ADAM equipped / professionally acoustically designed and tuned studio) is infailable! If you're interested, I have demo CD's and Mp3s available for your consideration - people send me this stuff all the time, and frankly, I'm running out of room to store it all, so I'd love to send it to you and let YOU deal with it. I've criticized everything from Alanis Morrisette to U2 and everything in-between (including Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, Pop, Broadway showtunes, R&B, etc...). But I do charge extra for really BAD country. It's MORE than money...actually it's really ALL about the money! I do complete finished criticisms ony when well paid - in advance. My turnaround is very fast. Send an electronics funds transfer to my private, numbered account in the Cayman Islands (in the total amount of your current bank deposits plus $5,000) if interested. Thanks, Phil ;)

"You just advertised your service worldwide, forcing 99.9% of the forum readers who don't happen to live in or around NY to waste their time." Force? Interesting. Waste their time? The service can easily be distributed world wide, what with email, Fed Ex, etc... How did White Chocalate work it that she has so much free time? And so much anger? Hmmmmmm...

OL, > WOW! Such a mean-spirited gang! Didn't mean any harm. < Yeah, I think everyone overreacted a little. If you're good at producing sound-alike tracks, get in touch with some of the Karaoke vendors. I've done a lot of mastering for Pocket Songs, and Irv Kratka there may be interested in hearing your work. Go to: www.pocketsongs.com Then find Contact Us and send them a note. But I'll warn you that such work often doesn't pay very well. --Ethan

Look man it's kind of rude when one of your first post is selling something, we don't care what it is. We're trying to send a message to spammers that they're not welcome here. So what we do is nip it, nip it in the bud. If you can get over that, you are welcome to hang out here and get to know the group and then you might make some contacts and maybe even sell some stuff, but until we know you it's not allowed.

Anyway, seriously ... can you do me a karaoke version of Fuck the Police? I need it for my Grandmother's birthday party.
Originally posted by 88Fingerz: WOW! Such a mean-spirited gang! Didn't mean any harm. 'OL88'[/QUOTIt's all good... I hope you didn't take my posts too hard. I do come down on spammers pretty hard, but you don't seem like the "type" we get around here from time to time who are ONLY interested in spamming. SO, welcome, and ignore some of the inside jokes regarding the spam. :) My "Brakka / Curve" post was a parody of a post Curve did a while back, where HE parodied the spammer's post. Like I said, "inside joke".

I was just wandering how does all this "Sound alike" thingy works. You take music from a talented songwriter , rape it with your version of the sound and collect the paycheck - so how can you sleep?

Mr. Darling asks a good question. When you do this for a client, do you pay any publishing or licensing fees towards the artist whose work you are copying? Back when Karaoke first came out I worked for a guy who had a contract for a bunch of the Sony DK stuff. It was a work for hire gig. I had never heard of Karaoke, and I needed the bread so I did it. I always wondered if that studio owner/former friend/prick, ever paid for the use of those songs. Maybe Sony did? I dunno. Do you?

Hey All! Just to let you know, I've actually been visiting this forum steadilly since it's inception. Most of the time I zeroed in on Mr. Nichols' & Mr. Frangioni's forums. Actually between this and the "DUC" I stop by daily! To answer the question "I was just wandering how does all this "Sound alike" thingy works. You take music from a talented songwriter , rape it with your version of the sound and collect the paycheck - so how can you sleep?" I'm hoping to hook up with a company that does this legally (that's right folks, with licencing clearance and the sort, it IS legal). I personally don't want to deal with that end of the business, otherwise I'd go into business for myself, with all the potential headaches and loop-hole jumping one might encounter....so..... I prefer working for an already established company that deals with the dirt, freeing me up to concentrate on the music. "You take music from a talented songwriter , rape it with your version of the sound and collect the paycheck"? I TAKE nothing from no-one. Talented songwriter? When I was hired to remake top hits from the Billboard charts in past experiences, I never felt any of the material was coming from "talent", per-say. This world is in BIG trouble my friends, with the top hit makers basically having drug money and connections first, talent LAST if at all. In this day & age, mediocrity RULES! (occasionally I'd be hired to do some ELTON, BEATLES, DAVE MATTHEWS, SPINNERS, MARVIN GAYE, etc...ther-in lays "talent" of sorts. "RAPE it with MY VERSION? NO! I pride myself on recreating the original note for note, sound for sound. I did Elton's TINY DANCER recently...so well, in fact that It could fool Elton! "Back when Karaoke first came out I worked for a guy who had a contract for a bunch of the Sony DK stuff. It was a work for hire gig. I had never heard of Karaoke, and I needed the bread so I did it." EXACTLY; I need the bread. ALSO.... a little side note: My "regular" gig is....well,....here's my ad (run in a poular NYC weekly: SINGERS! SONGWRITERS! GUITARISTS! YOU DON'T NEED A BAND! Get your CD done NOW!!!
