IanD
I just got my OB3 (squared) Drawbar expander, and I was after some tips from you B3 guys, I am after some playing tips as well as suggestions for drawbar settings. The kinds of sounds I like are the B3 sounds on Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall. I have started experimenting with the settings and any help would be appreciated Thanks Ian http://www.hypertracker.com/go/iandixon/KC1/
joegerardi
Ian: Rick Wright uses the first 4 drawbars a lot. I was watching the PULSE video, and he keep the 4th bar 1/2 to 3/4s out, the rest full. Thing is, he plays the Leslie like an instrument. Listen to how many times he speeds it up and slows it down, and where. He's better at that than anyone I've heard. Setup: Korg Kronos 61, Roland XV-88, Korg Triton-Rack, Motif-Rack, Korg N1r, Alesis QSR, Roland M-GS64 Yamaha KX-88, KX76, Roland Super-JX, E-Mu Longboard 61, Kawai K1II, Kawai K4. The Leslie speeding up and down is part of the sound that I like Ian http://www.hypertracker.com/go/iandixon/KC1/

Jazzman
IanD, how do you like the draw-bar sound on this unit, does it come close to being real? I was looking at one of these the other day, but it wasn't hooked up at the store, and I didn't have enough time to set it up. I guess You can use it on a variety of keyboards for some wild sounds, right? Did you try it on other gear yet? I'm curious. Thanks Jazzman http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/cool.gif

Thanks Jazzman http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/cool.gif I got offered the unit in a complex deal that ment it was free to me http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif So i didn't really shop around and try diffrent units. I have played Korgs new CX3 which i did like, not sure whethers its the keyboard of the sounds but it has a very fast responce with some keyclick. I do like the OB3 sounds, but i have never played a real b3 http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/frown.gif so i couldn't say how well it does, but its better that the organs on my i3 or DX11! I live the drive effect to introduce some tube distortion,I am stating to experiment with it to come up with all the clasic sounds i have heard before I guess You can use it on a variety of keyboards for some wild sounds, right? Not sure what you mean, as in using my keyboards to control the ob3? Ian http://www.hypertracker.com/go/iandixon/KC1/
Rapture
I recently purchased an OB 3 Squared Module. The manual does not cover if there is a factory reset button sequence for the upper memory buttons. Is there such a reset or does any one have the sysex for the factory setup. Thanks Rapture

Thanks Rapture Funny I was thinking the same thing, b4 i save some of my setting. I didn't see anything in the manual for it. If i get chance (it may get the weekend) I will dump the sounds to a midi file and you can have them, I haven't overwriten them yet. I was hoping to back the sounds up to Sounddrive but there wasn't a device for the OB. Seeing as you have one have you any tips? shaifire
For any hammond lover, you simply must check out Native Instruments B4. The long awaited dream is a reality, and the price is rediculous for what is can do.
Rapture
Hi, I thought I responded to your message yesterday but I dont see it here. Anyway, I would appreciate the sysex file. Is your module new and never used? I met last night with a friend who was a B3 player for years. I will put together my notes, and give you his settings and styles he uses it for. There was another post on here from Dave Byrce and some others about their fav settings. You can email the sysex to ==> CTRapture@hotmail.com Thanks, Rapture Originally posted by IanD: Funny I was thinking the same thing, b4 i save some of my setting. b_3guy
I'm sorry Ian. I should have replied to your thread sooner but I thought Dave or someone else would point this out to you. Here's a recent thread about drawbar settings http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/Forum18/HTML/001243.html If you use the search in the upper corner of the main window, you'll find every thread that has been in the Forum in regards to drawbars by typing in drawbars. Or try Hammond or B4, etc. Steve www.seagullphotodesign.com

Dogfur
Second to the B4 thumbs up -Also the expansion drawbars CD is alot of fun ( if not really necassary! )and done very well - The best product I've purchased in years ( Still overpriced, though for software ) I'll look into the Floyd video as for the leslie settings ( the B4's cool, but still nothin' like the real thing! ) $.02, Dogfur Woof!
