Guest Posted May 7, 2001 Posted May 7, 2001 Yesterday our golf course opened after the winter. And as sure as fish can swim, I was there. It was so lovely to feel the rubber grips on my clubs again. Ohh, my lovely clubs. I'm so pleased with them. I don't think that even Tiger Woods can slice as much as I can with them! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Even though it started disastrous, it went rather well. I scored on my handicap. (feel free to joke about that) Are there any golfing musicians here that can understand my excitement? ------------------ --Smedis,-- This message has been edited by smedis on 05-07-2001 at 07:49 AM

Gus Lozada Posted May 7, 2001 Posted May 7, 2001 "Summer" Daylight saving time has just started in Mexico last Sunday. That only means two things: 1) Enough time for 9 holes after 6 PM starting right today. 2) Today my body is asking me for an extra sleep hour... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/cool.gif Nice GOLF definition, by the way... Jeff Klopmeyer Posted May 7, 2001 Posted May 7, 2001 I love love love love golf. That's four loves. I don't think my best guitar gets more than three loves, and only my son qualifies for five. That's not to say I'm a great golfer...probably about a 20-22 handicap now. I've played for about 20 years or a little more. I don't get out nearly as often as I'd like. But I'm holding TASCAM's Sales/Marketing Summit next month in Palm Springs, and one of the big activities is two rounds at Tahquitz Creek, a beautiful Arnold Palmer course in the desert. Can't wait to play there, even if I play like crap. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon

You can play like shit and still find it entertaining. This is something that is not similar to performing with music. ------------------ --Smedis,--
Dan Worley Posted May 8, 2001 Posted May 8, 2001 I was out on the course the other day, and on the third tee my friend had a heart attack and died. It was horrible!!! For 16 holes it was hit the ball, drag my friend. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif Last year I was on the golf course with a customer I didn't know very well. The course we were playing was adjacent to a cemetery. While we were getting ready to tee off, a funeral procession went by. The guy took off his hat and lowered his head until the procession past, then he approached his ball and started his waggle. I spoke up and told him I appreciated that he was such a sensitive and caring guy. He blushed a bit, kicked at the ground and said, "Yeah, well, we would of been married twenty-two years tomorrow." http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/eek.gif Sorry, old jokes. Regards, Dan (Mulligan) Worley
Allan Speers Posted May 8, 2001 Posted May 8, 2001 Golf was invented in Scotland. A country who's idea of cuisine is haggis. A country who's idea of music is bagpipes. I don't get it. The music biz is frustrating enough. But hey, if it works for you, enjoy. I may take up the game someday, but I don't think I'll keep score.
murph Posted May 8, 2001 Posted May 8, 2001 I like playing golf, but for me it's more like hockey. I can't get the ball more than a couple of feet off the ground. I'd prefer a net to shoot into rather than the hole... too small! I also like to check my opponent during his backswing. Bill Murphy www.murphonics.com

SFOracle Posted May 11, 2001 Posted May 11, 2001 I just haven't found the right golf course. You know the one with a dog leg to the right at about 100 yds on every hole. Our country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance. It is also owed to justice and to humanity. Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong: James Bryce
