garyd Posted April 26, 2001 Posted April 26, 2001 Does anyone here have any insight into how Gus Dudgeon got the fabulous piano sound on the classic Elton John recordings (Madman, etc)? I've been looking for a sampled sound with the same type of character, but have yet to find one. I've got a MicroPiano module (which doesn't even come close) and GigaStudio with both the GigaPiano and Trachtman Steinway samples, but none these give the type of sound I'm looking for. I'd really appreciate any advice/suggestions. Thanks! -gary -Gary http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/garydmusic.htm
Guest Posted April 27, 2001 Posted April 27, 2001 He put a tube mic on a grand piano didn't he? If you must recreate it digitally I think Kurzweil and Ensoniq have the best piano samples. But there are more digitally inclined people on this forum who could offer more help http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif This message has been edited by truth@jamfree.com on 04-26-2001 at 07:33 PM
