AudioMaverick
WineHQ -- What Is It? The Unix admin at one of my sister companies is using this to install and run Windows native applications on both Unix(Solaris) and Linux(Redhat). So far, he has installed Office-based applications, and IE5.5-SP2. My question is, what about multitrack recording software? Has anybody used WinHQ or a nother application like it witht their favorite recording software? I am curious to find out if the HAL is emulated in such a way that the actual sound cards work... I mean no timing issues. I know My Delta-1010s will work with Redhat v7.0, and up. But, I don't know if the software would find it. "It's all about the... um-m-m, uh-h-h..." Franknputer
I don't think so, dude. WINE's useage, while getting better, is still pretty limited - and for anything media-related, even more so. Codeweavers probably has the most successful WINE implementation - their Crossover stuff allows a lot of stuff to work. But even if it could run Windows audio apps (which I'm pretty sure it can't), you'd never get any performance out of it.
