fractal909msn.com
Remember when sampling first appeared? Korg had a keyboard named the Dss-1. They also manufactured a rackmount version of the Dss-1. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows the name of the rackmount version and (here's the kicker) where I might be able to acquire one of these puppies. Jonathan Hughes
I just checked www.vintagesynth.com and it said that the "DSM-1 was the expanded rackmount version." Have you checked E-Bay?
fractal909msn.com
I've checked ebay, musicians friend, and a couple of other used equipment sites but have had no such luck. If you know of any sites that specialize in vintage gear than I would love to hear about them.
Dave Bryce
I used to own a DSS-1 - great toy! AFAIK, it was the first synth/sampler combo with onboard ROM - okay, so it was just a DW8000 with either 4 or 8 seconds of sampling, but it was still kind of ahead of it's time...I'm curious to know what it is about that piece that has you looking for it? Also, what makes the DSM-1 expanded? More sample time, I hope... dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
fractal909msn.com
I currently own a dss-1 but I'm trying to make my rig a little more mobile. Plus there are about five broken keys on my dss-1. So the dsm-1 would be just what the doctor ordered if I could find it.

Guest
Another place to check is the recycler.com. Go to http://music.recycler.com and search in the Tools of the Trade section, probably under the Keyboards/Midi heading. If there's one for sale in the L.A. area or Cali in general, it'll be listed on the Recycler.
KnightShow
if you keep checking ebay, you might be able to pick it up... of course others that are looking for it might also push the bid up high. ----------------------- Forum for the Media Arts
