M.Engle Posted January 7, 2001 Posted January 7, 2001 The question I have is, I had to replace the internal battery and lost all patches. Is their a way to do a hard reset back to factory settings. Thanks in advanced for your help. M.Engle
Dave Bryce Posted January 7, 2001 Posted January 7, 2001 Well, it's been a while since I owned an M1. To the best of my reecollection, it is not possible to recall the factory presets from the synth's memory. I am guessing that the best way for you to get them is to contact Korg's tech support folks and see if they have a MIDI dump of the original bank, or something akin to that. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
M.Engle Posted January 7, 2001 Author Posted January 7, 2001 Thanks for your quick reply. I was afraid that might the response. I could not find anything in the manual. And you confirmed my suspicion. Anybody out there have a PCM/Data card with factory setting for sale. I have had this board since new in 87 I think. Still love the sounds but does not get played as much as the k2500. Thanks again. M.Engle ps. I will contact the factory.
johnnyproaol.com Posted January 14, 2001 Posted January 14, 2001 You can find the factory patches as well as Gobs more at: http://webcoast.com/drevil/ Have fun!!!!! JP PS: I've been using my M1ex and T3 for 12 years and still love the Brass and Organs.
Guest Posted January 14, 2001 Posted January 14, 2001 Korg probably still has the cards, as many of those boards that they made. I know you can still get the floppy for the O1/W, the M1's predecessor. Ditto's on the good sounds. You know, I still like the saxes, english horn, flute, choir, fretless and slap bass, and arco strings on my 0/1, which are mostly the same as the M1's, better than the samples on my Triton. I bought my 01 9 years ago, it's been dropped off of stages and been soaked by rain and it still keeps on kickin'. Hope my Triton gives as good service. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif
M.Engle Posted January 14, 2001 Author Posted January 14, 2001 I wished I known that I could d/load the factory patches. I just bought the MPC-00S card off of Ebay. It seemed it was a hot little item $129.50. I checked Korgs web site, they had nothing on the M1. I am a Korg fan. I have the 01R/W and the SRWavestation. The voices are great as well as the Elect. Piano (patch 51). Thanks for the web sight I will sure check them out.
johnnyproaol.com Posted January 15, 2001 Posted January 15, 2001 Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The M1 preset card was only $26 from KORG in 1990. eBay is a wonderful thing......if you're a seller!!!!!!!!! But at least now you have them, and in a very convenient form. JP
