I just discovered this forum, and as a pro keyboardist and longtime Keyboard mag reader, I'm delighted! I'll be here often for sure. In fact, I thought: "oh no, another great forum to check regularly!"

Just a little complaint, however: what's the point in being forced to have your email address as user name? I don't like it, and I'm also a little upset seeing that some of the usernames are *not* email addresses.

What's going on? Other than that, the site is great.

(Please forgive my English, and also I'm sorry if this question has been answered before)

You can change your forum posting nickname. In fact if you look at the top of Dave's forums you will see an announcement that describes how to do it. You can update it through the Profile link or go straight to this link .

In the very near future, we will be offering a Forum and User Review nickname that will be a part of the registration process.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This reminds me, isn't it time for Halloween nicknames and avatars?

BTW, why did you revive this dead thread for this purpose?

I never can get this "add a pic" thing to work

I made a jpg, sized it to 140 by 130 pixels, uploaded it to Flickr, copied the url and pasted it in my profile, but it just says "improper picture type".

Steve,

You have to use the part of the link that starts with http: and ends in jpg.

You might get all this gibberish from flickr

by Joe Stone Zone, on Flickr

and you have to use the part that's just

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6085/6023000424_6e7ecee429.jpg

and I'm not even sure flickr will let you use it like that.

Hey Steve, if you post the URL to the pic on Flickr, I'll help get you sorted out. :thu:

That's where it's nice having a couple web servers at my disposal when needed :)
