KenElevenShadows
I just got the 4-song CD from Curve. It's groovy and vibey. I like "You Never Know" and "Surfing the Concrete Beach" especially. Oh, and the recording/mix is very good. Curve, what instruments do you play on this? Everything? Bunny Knutson
My favorite of the bunch is "I'm a Freak." Damn, that song grooves! I love the lead guitar in there. It's all tweaked out with like a harmonized 5th effect or something. Sounds great. I know Curve plays guitar, and as far as I know, he's responsible for everything else you hear in there, except the vocals. https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/

Curve Dominant
Thanks for the props, guys, glad you enjoy the soundz. Yeah, I play all the guitar parts. Drums and basslines are sequenced on a Korg ElectribeS, then recorded as audio to PT. There's also some cheap Roland synthes here and there. The lead guitar on "I'm A Freak" was played through a Line6 Filter Modeler into PT, where I doubled it, and then drew the stereo panning automation in the edit window. Dude, seriously, when I heard you play the piano at Turtle Studios I actually felt a little intimidated about callin' on ya. But since you put it that way, I'll call on ya. Anyways, Oshia's been raggin' on me about getting a "real" keyboardist into the Curve Lab, as opposed to my rinky-dink single-key-at-a-time self. We'll talk more off-line on that tip. Yeah, I'd LOVE to get "picked up" right now, preferably by a cute brunette with big brown eyes and a nice figure...if you see one of those, tell her I'm "unsigned" and give her my digits - good lookin' out. Very funky and soulfull. and I love the snare on "Concrete Beach". I'll send you a CD with some of my stuff in a couple of days. I'd like to know what you think. Mats Olsson.
Eric, is your CD distributed in Europe? I'd like to hear it. /Mats http://www.lexam.net/peter/carnut/man.gif What do we want? Procrastination! When do we want it? Later!
Curve Dominant
Eric, is your CD distributed in Europe? I'd like to hear it. /Mats
Mats, No, actually. It's not even distributed in the states...in fact, it's not actually finished yet. I've been mailing out CDs of the first 4 mixes done (unmastered might I add), and you're seeing the reaction to those. Today I just finished mixing track #8. Tracks 9 and 10 are partially recorded, as are dance remixes of two of the existing tracks. Plus I've been trying to get a rapper to throw down some rhymes on one of the tracks, and he and I keep missing each other - hopefully he'll drop by this weekend so we can do that. I don't want to publicly say who he is until I get him recorded, but he's semi-big. In the meantime, I'm shopping for a distributer, and starting work with a new singer for the next project. I think tonight I'll take a break and actually leave my studio for a few hours. For you Philly-area lurkers: Wellstar is playing at Doc Watsons tonight on 11th Street between Walnut and Locust. They're friends of mine, trip-hoppy type soul music, excellent band. About 11pm I think, but call the venue to make sure. I should be there.
