vocal processor

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I am looking for a processor to run vocals through live and for rehearsals. I need something with a footwsitch so I can change effects on the fly(cant afford a sound guy yet), any recommendations? I mainly need delay, chorus, harmonies, compression, reverbs and maybe a bit of distortion on ocassion. Just the usual cool effects.I haven't been able to try a Peavey vocal 100, which seems like a great idea but I am concerned about the low quality of the effects on it. I would assume its crap. Any help on this matter would be great. Is there a unit I could hook a MIDI controller to and use it on the fly? By the way, when you run a hormonizer live, does it sound obvious or is it a suttle effect?
To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" You can say, "Sorry, got these sacks." -Jack Handy

The DigiTech Vocalist series does most of what you want to do. Harmonies are very good, there's chorusing and some delay, I think some of the newer models have reverb as well. I don't think you'll find distortion, though. Check one of these puppies out at a music store. The harmony effects work well for live, I've heard people use them and they sound great.
