surfjunkie
hey i have an iBook (466 G3, usb & firewire, no PCI) and an AKAI MPC2000 (SCSI only). they each have a zip drive. how can i transfer a sample from the MPC to the iBook and back without using audio in & out? i know about programs like "interpreter" and "osmosis", but they only recognize SCSI drives (the mac uses a usb zip). i also know about firewire-to-SCSI adaptor cables, but i've heard that they sometimes don't work, depending on the situation. would one work here? i've searched these forums to no avail, but it seems like a good site. i hope there are some mac users here who can help. i bet craig anderton uses a PC, right? thanks
ABM11
Hey, I have a Ibook 2001 and had the same problems. I bought the FW to scsi adaptor for 100$ online, and it works fine. I love zip disks but the adaptor is what you need. Oh and by the way Craig has a PC desktop and a g3 powerbook (i met him today at Experince Music Project) ------------------
surfjunkie
wow- didn't expect this to pop back up... what program do you use to get samples back & forth? do you know how i do the mpc end of it? i'd assume it's in "disc", but i need details. right now i just do it all with zip discs, but if i could do it direct, i'd probably use the mpc more than i do. thanks.
