not Cereal
ahhh, yes. the freedom to go to work everyday, so we can be in debt for ever. also the freedom to choose between walmart and best buy. the freedom to hold our own views as more meaningful than others'. the freedom to be unique, as long as you do it like everyone else. freedom of religion as long as it is christianity. when i was a kid, i bought all this stuff. i am beginning to wonder if we ARE free. (Just don't forget we kicked your butts in 1812... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ) Harold A very belated happy May 24th to you, Harold... On another note... When I lived in Michigan, my wife had an "Avon man". He was an immigrant from Laos. He was taking any odd job he could to put himself through school, and had no predispositions about what we Westerners would call "women's work". I am sure he held down several jobs, of which that was but one. We befriended his family, him, his wife, two daughters and a son. Their first winter in Michigan, they had never seen snow...so we took them all sledding. Didn't come to find out until later, when I read an article in the local paper about the city's new residents, that the family had escaped Laos by swimming across a river at night while being shot at by patrol boats. Hmmm, got some errands to run on the way home. Should I go to Wal Mart or Best Buy? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

In fact, posting your view here isn't a right at all... it's a privelege allowed to us by MusicPlayer.com, and it can easily be taken away as our moderator sees fit. We are just lucky that Craig (and the other moderators) put up with so much of our crap. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif Scott (just another cantankerous bastard)

Curve Dominant
Kevin Spacey gets the Oscar. My other nominees were Whoopie Goldberg, Mel Gibson, Micheal Douglas, and the Asian lady. WOW! I just got back from the Ben Franklin Parkway. Some of y'all saw that on ABC. Live with 100,000+ fellow audience members, it was pretty powerful stuff. That Constitution is one heavy set of lyrics, baby! Jill Scott's 1/2 hour set was kickin', and I thought the sound was fantastic for an outdoor venue that stretched for a half a mile. The sweet spots were big, and there was lots of them. I can only imagine how proud she must feel, having grown up in a poor little North Philadelphia neighborhood, and now performing on the Art Museum pavillion on July 4th for one of the biggest gigs in the world. Wow. I've been anything but a Garth Brooks fan in the past, but he was GREAT! Seeing him live I thought, "Oh, I get it now. I can understand why he's huge." God Bless America. Tedster
Aww heck...most of those folks in Overland Park have probably never even seen a Canadian flag (unless they have to fly their private jet to Toronto on business)...it was a nice cultural lesson for 'em. Anderton
<> You're right. The first amendment says "Congress shall make no law abridging..." <> Well, the whole point of this forum is to provide a place for people to communicate, so deletions run counter to that philosophy.
