sign
Hi all It's past midnight in Holland now so it's the first of July. Today it is ten years ago when I started my studio officially and I am very happy I did. Today in the afternoon some 60 or maybe 100 people come to the studio to have a party, make some music, have a drink and something to eat and I love it and so does my wife. I wish you could all join the party, but we know that's impossible. Some 12 or 13 years ago it started as a home recording studio with a Teac 3440 and a Teac model 2A 6x4 board and look what happened, it completely went 'out of hand'. The first couple of years I worked from seven in the morning to half past two in the night, but I'm glad I did. We can make a living out of it now and at least I do what I always liked to do, make music, produce it and I love doing it (most of the time). Tell me folks, how did you do it, when did you start and with what gear? You can look at our studio if you like: www.beaufortstudio.com Peace to all of you! sign
Hi Harold, Gustavo and Stratman Thanks very much for your kind words. It was a great party, there was nice music being made by great musicians and they gave me so many bottles of booze I can get drunk for a whole month. Thanks again. Peace. sign
Yo Tedster Thank you for your kind reply, don't get drunk!! Hey film@fsc.edu Thank you too, my son made the website and the car is a Jaguar XJ6 1969. It is standing on the carpet just next to the grand piano, ain't that peculiar or what? Have you ever seen a vintage car standing in the middle of a vintage studio? It's standing there as a work of art although it can perfectly behave like a normal (very fast) car! Thanks again. Peace. coles4038
Hello Sign, Congratulations. Have a great time at your party! Just saw your website, and it looks like music is happening in your corner of the world. Fantastic. Are there any records that were done there that you would suggest I could listen to. Warm regards. sign
Hello coles 4038 Thank you, I have had a great time indeed. You are right, in this corner (corner?) of the world there is quite some music happening and I'm glad to be able to record some of it. In ten years I must have done between 500 and 600 demo's and albums, but I'm afraid there is not much of it available in the USA. In 1992 I produced and recorded the first album of a band named 'The Gathering' and as far as I know they are the only band that did gigs around the globe, but I don't know how 'well known' they are in the USA. The album is called 'Always' and was recorded with an old Fostex B16 and a small Seck 1882 board. A year ago it has been 'remastered' by a 'famous' Dutch producer and he just spoiled it's nice atmosphere and deep and wide sound. So now it sounds flat and boxy ,arghhh!! Best regards and Peace.
