tonemonkeyyahoo.com
Ok... Admittedly this won't interest everyone, but... I (try to) run BIAB on Win2K and have to resort to some pretty annoying workarounds to save a song file with a long name (save to short name, close BIAB, go to OS, rename, open BIAB, then manually tell BIAB to recreate song file list). Furthermore, BIAB just seems to really want all the song files dumped into the root dir. Yeah, adding my 300 songs to the 300 or so that ships with it, creating one big@ss song file list I have to browse to find stuff is real intelligent. NOT! Anyway, I've been trying to engage BIAB tech support since release 9.x. Here's the latest email exchange. Win2K users of the world unite... boycott these bozos until they correctly support an OS running on 85% of the computers worldwide. Everyone else manages to it. Hi- Technically, your reply is not correct: > NT/00 does not support Long File Names. It is only your particular (lame) port from the MacIntosh that does not support long file names; not an inherent limitation of the NT/2000 OS. How come other software companies can support Macs and PCs without this REALLY annoying problem? Adobe manages to do it just fine. Please consider properly supporting an operating system that runs on 85% of the computers worldwide. I'd love to upgrade. Let me know when you fix this and I'll do so.
