Nice job on the Battery article Craig

Recommended Posts

Hope I'm not rehashing something here but...

Great job on the article Craig. I've been wanting to get a soft sampler and even though this is actually a *drum* machine, it really looks to actually be a fully featured sampler too.

HMMMM.

Thanks for the tips.

Phil

Glad you liked the article, I get the most comments on the video! I wonder how many people have downloaded the free samples .

Anyway, the only thing that keeps it from being full-featured is the lack of a filter. Emagic's EXS24 is very hip, and Steinberg's Halion is due someday soon, so you have options for samplers. CreamWare's PowerSampler uses hardware support so it doesn't bash on your CPU too much, and I just got a copy of their Volkszampler -- I'm interested in trying it out.

But I use Battery a lot for Akai sounds -- bass, keyboards, etc. Many of them have any filtering built in, and for other sounds, filtering isn't really necessary.

Battery really is cool, though. I've been having a ball with it.
