i also changed every (nero5.5) cd format parameter - without success.

the mpc just displays the ???????s and can't read my burnt cds.

i'm tired of transferring my loops via floppy disk http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/frown.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/frown.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/frown.gif

For reference check out http://www.cdrfaq.org

There was an old standard of MPC that was a minimum spec of hardware/software for multimedia. I don't know what MPC2000 is so I'll stop there.

thanx, thats a great cd-r faq site . even god doesn't know more 'bout cd-rs

but i couldn't find any mpc2k related topics. i also tried your ng link but couldn't log in. by the way: it's an old mpc2k (without xl)

thanx cal

Tell me what an MPC2000 is. Who makes it. I'm pretty good at sleuthing these things.

u don't know that??? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif k, the akai mpc is a 16 bit drumsampler with integrated midi sequencer. pretty cool thang. if u want to take a glance @ it check www.mpc2000xl.com or www.akaipro.com

it'll be hard to find a concerning topic (mpc + burning compatible cd-rs)

i searched several days + found some cool mpc sites but no solution how to burn wav cd-rs which the mpc can read. the mpc reads my commercial sampling cds without probs. so there must be a solution.

thanx

My friends own an MPC2000 and uses imoga scsi zip. You can get zip drive from 100mb to 2gb. I use it to store samples and banks setting from my sampler Emu, E-synth.

Hope that ehlps. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

OK, by coincidence I took off to a gear sale today and the store had an MPC2000XL so now I know what it is, notwithstanding you also told me just now. And I just downloaded the manual

From what I can make out, you already know it can look for file structures on a PC formatted CD, hard drive or floppy, so we're into troubleshooting.

You said you can use floppies, so your .wav file format is OK.

Let's stick with burning in ISO9660 format, the most universal.

Can the CD-R be read in several other CD drives? I know some of the burns I do on the office CD-R/RW can't be read on my home PC's read only, which will read burns done on my second writing drive. Are you burning at 2X, 4X?

I'd try slower speeds. Use good quality media. Definitely use CD-R, not CD-RW media.

Be sure to select to close the disk as an option in Nero. You might go so far as to prepare an ISO file instead of burning on the fly. I know sometimes you might not get an error message but the CD-R is still screwed depending on what is reading it later.

I'm guessing with my experience on any hardware that offers to handle drives and file formats for you, it is not very forgiving on what it digests.

It's OK to tempt fate. Just don't drop your drawers and moon her.

well i burnt in the iso format + the 'mpc-failed' ones are readible by other cd-rom drives. i never used cd-rw + burnt with 12X speed. i also used the close disk option + never burnt on the fly cause i want to burn my own wavs.

i keep on keepin' on

next time i will try to burn @ slower speeds cause my cd-rom drive which is connected to the mpc is pretty old....

thanks for your xtensive air support..... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif
