Actually, that was just a bunch of marketing nonsense. The original BBE added harmonics via distortion and possibly high-end-only compression. They just wanted to fool people into thinking otherwise.

I don't know, but my live music sounds clearer and punchier, is it good? is it bad? are they fooling me? well it sounds nice to me, and to the people is listening to my live music, if this thing is fooling my audience,and they think it sounds good, BBE keep fooling http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif!!

 

BBE is the poor man's proccesor.

What I find interesting is this: I A/B a lot of "professionally" mixed cd's that I own through my studio BBE and the processed sound often kicks butt. That presents a couple of thoughts.

 

1) Anyone can learn to work the gear. Having a glass ear and good old horse sense is a different matter. I know guys doing mixes from their houses that meet or exceed the commercial quality products.

 

2) Many egos are offended by a product that is so simple yet so effective, and yet oftentimes casual listeners will agree that BBE improves the sound.

 

3) It's almost a MAC vs PC issue. No clear winner can possibly emerge.
