ovnis7yahoo.com
What's the best pro soundcard i can buy for $400(I guess "Pro" and $400 probably don't go well together, but all the same; I'd like everyones input...I won't be recording any live instruments or vocals. Mostly working w/ samples/loops... As far as the requirements I need it to have only the most common, nothing over the top... -DSP-Not really -20-24 bit resolution/recording -I/O as many as possible well I guess if you could just let me know of any decent pro sound card you may know of, or have for that price range and maybe give me some specs and info i would trully apreciate it ...thanx
Faeflora
if you can afford buying adat converters, the rme adi 9652 is generally thought of as "best" because of it's latency. If you live in the Washington Metro area, check out Slave Audio
ovnis7yahoo.com
Thanx for your reply...who makes this soundcard?...could you give me a brief description
murph
The question is kind of like asking, "What's the best luxury car for under $12,000?" The pro status subjective. If you mean does it sound good, have good converters and work with a bunch of software, then you're talking another ball game. You may want to check out the Midiman stuff. Always worked well for everyone I know that's tried it. Also the Seasound Soloist has gotten som good feedback. Alndln
Originally posted by ovnis7@yahoo.com: Thanx for your reply...who makes this soundcard?...could you give me a brief description The card in question is made by RME.There are several different models but the RME digi 96/8 PST has 16 lightpipe i/o,spdif i/o and stereo 1/4 unbal analog i/o and goes for about $325.00 US.The card can be expanded with an extra 4 unbal. analog i/o via an optional connecter(about $130.00 US).The card comes with all up to date driver,ASIO/WDM/GSIF/MME.You won't find much more pro than the entire RME line.Other than that another option would M-Audio Delta 44 or 66 or Echo Audio's Darla or Mia all of which sport 4 analog unbal. i/o. ovnis7yahoo.com
What can anyone say about the Lexicon Core 2 Pci card, comes w/ a packaged Cool Edit Pro, breakout box (i think 8 I/O's), list price of $599. on sale at musiciansfriend.com for $199.
Dylan
I've heard that this card has had driver issues, and that most non-ASIO apps don't work too great. Plus, from what I understand they don't plan on supporting any newer versions of Windows. -Dylan Originally posted by ovnis7@yahoo.com: What can anyone say about the Lexicon Core 2 Pci card, comes w/ a packaged Cool Edit Pro, breakout box (i think 8 I/O's), list price of $599. on sale at musiciansfriend.com for $199.
