jraffertyuswest.net
For the longest time I have been wanting a decent multiband software. Every one I have tried leaves a lot to be desired either with the sound and often a completely unusable interface. Why do most multibands assume that you want the frequency cutoff points LINKED??? When they do this you have to use all four bands just to process two independant frequencies without processing what is in between. And then one of those frequencies either has to be at the bottom or the top of the frequency range. C4 amlost did it but then they left out the ability to adjust RATIO for each band! The best interface I have ever seen was one that came with soundforge 4.0 multiband. You simply select a frequency point, select how wide you want it, the threshold and ratio for each band, and you could see all four bands at once. Problem is the sound sucked. Does any one know of a multiband that uses that interface principle but that has smooth/fast attack and decay? After all these years I am still waiting for some one to design a decent one. Thanks, -Josh.
Ethan Winer
Josh, > For the longest time I have been wanting a decent multiband software. Is it possible that a multi-band dynamics processor is not the only solution? --Ethan The acoustic treatment experts Ethan's Audio Expert Book
rebonn
Have you tried Dynasone? www.blairsdevillestudios.com
masternfool
I have been using SEK'D (24/96 or ed roaster) for about 5 years now! Music mags won't promote their products? I have seen very little reviews on their software.(maybe to hard for americans to master)it is a little difficult to translate some of the instructions, but well worth it.Multiband "4 bands", eq"3" bands, noise reduction, dehiss, multiband expansion,...I will put their software up against sonic solutions any day!! They had the first cd burning software that did'nt default to 2 seconds and would allow the track marker to be placed anywhere! Enjoy all....HB
Hippie
This is why I'm still a hardware user! I can side-chain an EQ off a compresser and get just the right band. And, I don't have to wait till the 'puter recalculates or latencies and I forget what the original sound was, etc., etc., etc. Geez I'm gettin' a headache just thinking... I rather turn a real knob in real time, Hippie In two days, it won't matter.
