staupephotmail.com
Hi Folks, I have just had a conversation with a friend and he was trying to find out a bit of trivia concerning the gear Zepplin may have used on one of their albums(don't know which one). The item in question was a mixing console that was apparently not good enough for Zep ( I think it was a Neve 24 track board ) and was then rebuilt by someone to suit their tastes just for this album. Does this ring any bells for you guy's? If so I would love to hear more about this console. Or perhaps someone has a link? Thanks Eric
Pro Jules
They used Helios consols a lot. I have 4 x channels from the one they used at Headly Grange castle. Ron Nevison was engineering on it -The Ronnie Lane mobile truck.(OFTEN MIS PRINTED AS BIENG THE Rolling Stones Mobile - an error) Go look into Helios recording consoles. staupephotmail.com
Ok, I found out that this console was apparently a Tektronic that was modded for Led Zep. Someone is offering a couple of channel strips from it and I am trying to get a feel for the value of such an animal. I am researching independent of the sellers information to try to confirm the accuracy of his statements. The seller owns 10 of them and is selling 2. Still trying to find out which album this was used on but this is difficult info to get. Any very detailed books out there describing equipment for a collector?
