kudyba
Please read this message in its entirety. It's about a very important project I am working on and I'd like your involvement. By the way, if this project sounds like something you're into, please do me a huge favor and forward this to every band, musician, and music business person you know. The more people we have involved, the better this is goingto be! The project is the Nashville New Music Conference (http://www.2nmc.com/) and I'd like you to be involved with a showcase, your attendance, and your word of mouth publicity. By the way, if you want to showcase, go to http://www.2nmc.com/ and get on the mailing list. We'll have a special offer for you. I don't know if you've ever been to a music conference or not, but I attend 15-20 PER YEAR, so let me explain my take on them. You pay anywhere from $200-500 for a badge that gets you in an event with abunch of people speaking during the day and a bunch of bands playing at night. If you're lucky, you're one of the bands playing and you get a free pass. It's great in theory, but a lot of conferences are just stroke sessions and cash cows for the owners. In fact, most of the owners aren't really in the music business. How did that happen? How about the panelists that would rather hype their company than give you a clear answer to your question? Don't get me started... I first had an idea for a conference about 18 months ago after attending a local "conference" where bands had to pay for a showcase and the "panels"were just presentations by single companies who had also paid to be there. What a joke that was. With the Nashville New Music Conference (http://www.2nmc.com/), I can promise you five things: 1. No "Gold" Badges - As far as I am concerned, everybody who comes to this thing is a VIP. Music should be inclusive, not exclusive-- especially not based on the amount of money you'll willing to put out. 2. No "Sales Pitch" Panels - Panelists shouldn't be on stage to stroke their own egos. They're up there to provide attendees with information on the business of music. 3. A Fair Price - Forget the $300-500 badge. This one is for the indies. If you're on the http://www.2nmc.com/ mailing list, you're going to get in for less than $100. Five days, under $100. 4. Real Music Business Attendees - This is Nashville, "Music City, USA." If you want to meet A&R staff, publishing people, managers, bookers, and others, this is the place to be...and it's not all Country either! 5. You're going to walk away feeling satisfied. - Nashville is a great city with great people and a thriving music business. We're open to anybody who works hard, so come on, have fun, work your ass off, and I'm positive you'llwork away feeling positive about the experience. I could go on and on. This is going to be the best music conference you have EVER attended. I am really excited about this. I'm working with a great team of people who were all musicians at one time and know where musicians are coming from, we've got some very indie friendly sponsors already on board, and we've gota great slant on music business conferences that nobody is doing. If you attend one conference this year, I want it to be the Nashville New Music Conference. Please go to http://www.2nmc.com/ and sign up for the mailing list now. I'll get you special rates on demo submission and also badges to get in. Have a great day! If you have any questions, people go to http://www.indiebiz.com/main/email.html and email me.
