analogman1
Greetings, I am in the process of creating a "mini" practice room in the basement of my home (approx. 8' x 8', for low-olume keyboards, guitar and light percussion. The actual space will spill out into a 25 x 15 family room; however, I'd like to confine the practice space to the 8' square section. Any thoughts on what materials for the wall coverings/floor coverings/lighting? My main concern is a space that's acoustically proper and comfortable on the ears. Thanks! Steven Denike
Headphones can do this for you; otherwise, since you're in the basement, try loading up on concrete (perhaps in cinder-block form) to prevent bleeding and then line both sides with something you like . . . that does, however, leave the problem of the door. Were you thinking of having a 'sliding' wall, or a curtain? Maybe a sliding glass door for a patio would be appropriate. Is it your own house/space?
