bleonhartearthlink.net
I would like to try different 12AX7 tubes in my Art Pro MP. I tryed a sovek 12AX7's from Mesa Boogie but it was to midrangey and hot. Everyone maks tubes for guitar amps, do they make tubes for mic pre's? Sir Bob
Good question. In my experience, I like GE and Mullards for guitar amps. But I can tell you that individual tubes can differ within the same brand. I would bet that a Telefunken would be a good replacement in a tube preamp. donriversound.com
Please post your email addy. My dad was in the Juke Box Business, and, I have a bag of ancient 12AX7 tubes. He had a fleet of Wurlitzer Jukeboxes, and, that tube was common to all of them. All different brands, not matched in any way, but, if you can use them, I'll mail them to you. Although, most have never been used, the newest one is from 1978.

donriversound.com
There is a catch however...any tubes that Bleohart can't use he has to give away, for any other music product. I have replacement tubes available for all my ancient, equipment stuff. The balence is for other music projects! I want to hear this old suff work again!
