Benjy King
I need HELP! I promised to help a young band I just mixed buy a demo set-up. The problem: I don't have a clue about low-end gear ($500). Which multi-effects >the 'Lexicon MPX500' or the 't.c.electronics M-ONE'? The Roland VS1880 or a new Yamaha something? Really curious about the effects box. Thanks Benjy Benjy
Anderton
As with so many questions on this board, we really need more specifics. What kind of music? Do the players already have effects? Would the effects be mostly for mixdown, mastering, or tracking? To which instruments would be effects be applied? Let's try again with a bit more information. alphajerk
what about just a DAW. its just a demo setup so plugins would be fine. most DAWs come with one of each effect included. alphajerk FATcompilation "if god is truly just, i tremble for the fate of my country" -thomas jefferson
Guest
Both the Lexicon MPX-500 and the TC Electronic M-One make excellent multi-effects units for under $500 street price. I'm partial to the M-One because I own one and have not spent as much time on the MPX-500. If reverbs are all you need, save a few bucks and try the Yamaha REV-500, a very nice unit for under $380. For the really budget constrained, check out the Lexicon MPX-100 and the Yamaha REV-100 multi-effects; great for budget personal studios.
