THE MIX FIX
Pushing and crowding the Teenage and Preteen Girls, and then openly molesting them outside of Radio City Music Hall, where M&M started his "Song" last night at the awards show, and then brought it into the theater. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/mad.gif Wasn't there a post about an article that said how M&M's fans (who bought his endorsed clothing lines), obeyed their parent's imposed curfews, more than the ones that bought Christina Aguliera's? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/tongue.gif How cool http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/cool.gif is he or his "fans" NOW??!! People wanted to string up the guys who did the same thing this summer at the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Could have been YOUR Daughter!! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/eek.gif I don't remember anything like that happening at, say, a Grateful Dead concert, do you? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/tongue.gif ------------------ Bob. Kris
Are you saying that M&M molested preteen girls before his performance on MTV? Kris My Band: http://www.fullblackout.com UPDATED!!! Anderton
Eminem = Alice Cooper for a newer, meaner age. Shock value = $$. Seems to me he has a brilliant future in marketing once people get tired of his schtick. THE MIX FIX
No, M&M's FANS did the molesting, during his performance , which started in the streets OUTSIDE the theater, and moved inside. And Craig, I could give a rat's ass about him and the marketing, but I'd SURE hate to see YOUR daughter (wearing her expensive M&M endosed jeans) going to watch her idols at an MTV awards show, only to be molested by the crowd, and having them pull the jeans down and "fondle" her. I'll bet you'd change you're tune in a SECOND, if that happened to HER!! NOW defend the "cool" http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/cool.gif Hip Hop crowd!! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/tongue.gif ------------------ Bob. Bob Buontempo. Jon Atack
Hey, wish I'd seen it. A lot of kids buy his stuff as much for the stance as for the music. One successful part of the music scene has always been about shocking the mainstream and getting talked about. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/tongue.gif Nothing new, there. If I were in his position, I'd probably do it too. After all, why does a dog lick his balls? Because he can. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Jon [This message has been edited by Jon Atack (edited 09-09-2000).]
c1131hotmail.com
Just because he can doesn't make it right... doesn't mean he should. Im with the MIX FIX shock is shock and wrong is wrong and that was wrong.
stub303hotmail.com
Despite the "shock" value Eminem carries, and his pushing the envelope too far sometimes (whether for shock value, money, whatever)...The kid has talent, and I'll respect anyone with that, whether or not I believe in what they're singing or rapping for. Anderton
>>Seems to me he has a brilliant future in marketing once people get tired of his schtick.<< And Craig, I could give a rat's ass about him and the marketing, but I'd SURE hate to see YOUR daughter (wearing her expensive M&M endosed jeans) going to watch her idols at an MTV awards show, only to be molested by the crowd, and having them pull the jeans down and "fondle" her.>> Bob, that statement was supposed to be ironic. Anyway, my daughter doesn't have M&M endorsed jeans -- she's more into Sheryl Crow, the Spice Girls, and anything classical! If you think I would defend that sort of behavior, you're an idiot. I'm also not going to assume that all cops are evil just because there are scandals that pop up. Eminem attracts a certain crowd, I don't care for that crowd, and there's a lot more to hip-hop than that crowd. saplingmusic.com
Insinuating that eminem is responsible for the actions of his "fans" is ridiculous and ignorant. People with that mentality were wastes of space long before eminem came along and will continue to be long after he's replaced. It's this finger pointing bullshit that drives me up the wall - I've had this argument too many times - PEOPLE are responsible for their OWN ACTIONS! Period. As for his talent, He's one of the few rappers I've seen who can pull off their songs live, and he's doing exactly what he set out to do - we're all talking about him aren't we? Kris
What about Brittney Spears lip sync? Why would MTV even allow a lip sync at their awards show. It makes me want to puke! stub303hotmail.com
Chip. I was referring to his talent as his rapping abilility. Sure it might be obscene, crude, and disgusting, but the kid can freestyle a better than a ton of the others out there doing it. I've worked with a lot of decent hip hop talent, but em can just go off. Like I said, I don't believe in what he raps about, and honestly I believe that if he want's to continue his career, he needs to lighten it up a bit. You can only tell the same joke so many times. Guest
Rough shit happens at concerts sometimes. That don't make it any less wrong but that's reality. M&M didn't start it and that sort of thing was happening long before he was around. I'm not condoning him or his "poor me I hate my Mom and everyone else" whining BS but some people dig it, Just acknowledging there are some weak minded people in the world who tend to screw everything up for the rest of us. I didn't watch the "awards" but i wonder, if this was going on in plain site on the street what were the cops doing?
