Anifa
Dave, I spoke with Shars this morning on the phone and discussed the importance of keeping the FOF site up to date with current information relative to death tolls and such. If those stats are going to be reported on the home page; they need to be kept current for people evaluating whether or not they want to get involved with the project. If it is too much hassle to routinely update the death tolls and provide current information; perhaps a more generic opening page without the stats would be more appropriate. One that just describes the project, the dedication to the victims, how the funds are being collected, and who will receive the proceeds to help those affected by disaster. The page still sets with information dated back to January 2nd and is several thousand people behind in death toll. Anifa
Dave, Thanks for the update on the top portion of the page, however, this part still remains outdated... January 2, 2005 The latest figures that are coming through are that nearly 126,000 people have perished in this disaster. Water supplies are now contaminated and aide is needed urgently and some is now getting through. The appeal now is urgent so please do give as much as you can to help agencies in the area to alleviate suffering for the people that have survived. The UN's relief co-ordinator Jan Egeland said the $2bn in aid promised so far, pledged by 40 countries, was more than all the donations made to the UN's other humanitarian appeals in 2004 put together. Maybe it can be eliminated altogether, as most people are aware by now the massive death catastrophe that has occurred. You can take the man away from his music, but you can't take the music out of the man.
