He's going to record the keeper lead vocal tracks on Friday or Saturday. Offramp is planning on recording the live drum tracks on Friday. Nursers just uploaded some new tracks that I'm going to d/l in a minute.Sounds great so far. I will hopefully be able to track a rhythm guitar part later today. From the mix I hear, I don't think it really needs it, but maybe I can still add something. If it works out that we don;t need another guit track, that's totally cool too. I really don't know what to put here.

I think I actually may have time to attempt a bass line or two this afternoon, while my youngster is napping. I'll post, and if it's used that fine, if it's not, then I was happy to do it anyway. I'll try to do the same thing with live electronic drums tommorrow morning, but I can't promised on that one...we may or may not be going out of town. Yeah, I'm really enjoying watching this come to life also...we should make it a point to do this sort of thing regularly. Anyone interested in doing a second song after this one is finished? Billster
Phil/Bunny/Foxy You need any more guitar? I just listened to the progress mix from Bunny. Ted's rhythm guitar sounds great, and the Wurlitzer sounds awesome. I'm guessing the lead there is from PBBPaul, and Bunny doesn't have the stuff I sent Phil. I also see WOW is offering some guitar. But if anything specific comes up during mix, dictate the lines or whatever, I'm here. I'll be around this evening after @8:30 p.m. eastern when the munchkin goes to bed. I'll PM my phones to Phil. I'm working from a dialup connection, so it takes a little time to send/receive Buy my CD on CD Baby! Bill Hartzell - the website MySpace?!?! offramp
1:05 p.m. Finally got a drum track I can feel good about. Next step: getting it out of DP and onto FTP site. Phil...should I upload the tracks as a project file, or...? I've upped my standards; now, up yours.
Philip OKeefe
Good morning everyone! Yes, I'm up bright and early at the crack of noon... Here's my latest thoughts: I'm digging the wurli Nursers. Tedster's Ric 12 is also very cool. And I liked the bass tracks on Bunny's rough too. Good work folks. On guitars, I'd like several contributions on solos, so anyone who wants to take a shot at it, feel free. I know we have some already, but I like options when it comes to solos. Rhythm stuff... well, as I said, I like the wurli and the 12 string, but I'd like to have a chunky, slightly distorted, slightly palm muted rhythm guitar part that I can use on buildups for "power" ... if no one wants to do that, I'm sure we can handle that here. Ditto that for a nice couple of strummed rhythm acoustic parts I can use for support / texture underneath things in some parts. BGV's - if anyone wants to take a shot at doing some, feel free. Again, we can probably lay some down here if needed, but if FT and Bunny can't get here until 9pm - midnight, we're going to be working pretty fast and not have a ton of time. Kyle? Offramp, your drum setup / mic setup sounds fine. If you have a nice sounding room (and if it isn't too late), toss that RCA up as a more distant overhead or room mic... we'll run it through a Distressor and trash it up a bit and use it for color and "size". Nursers, you mentioned a organ... did you use a Hammond / Hammond clone? I think one would be very useful in spots too. I'd like to get moving on some things before the Bunster gets down here, so if we can compile the tracks over on the ftp site Nurser's linked to, that would be a good thing from my POV. offramp
Alas, it's too late...tracks is done. Now for the "fuckican'tbelievethishappenedrightnow" part... The only way I could get the tracks FTp'd was via my neighbors highspeed connection I was slipping into every now and then. I just tried to get on, and I think they may have figured it out, 'cuz I've been denied. If I can't get in, my next chance will be to get over to a friend's house early tonight for the party, and use his highspeed. I've upped my standards; now, up yours. offramp
HAR! 10meg. I've got eight indies at 19.4 apiece. On another note: I can save this project as an OMF exchange. Philip OKeefe
Okay guys, I cleared out some space in my PM box... but PLEASE use my email or call me via phone if you need to reach me. Phone is fastest... Just remember, the numbers on my website are current, but the area code on the 360 number has CHANGED and is now 951 NOT 909. The other number (489 - my cell phone) remains unchanged. Offramp, we'll have to use FTP for the drum tracks. WOW and all guitar solo contributors: I like what you guys are doing, but may I make a suggestion? I'd go less for the super-saturated tone and pentatonic approach and think more along the lines of "WWMCD?" IOW, What Would Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) do? I think it would be more stylistically appropriate and fit the song a bit better. It's Beatles flavored pop-rock, so think along the lines of something that will sit within that context. If you want to take a more outside approach, think along the lines of what you might hear on a Matthew Sweet record.

Philip OKeefe
Thanks mate... I'm going to start D/L that stuff now. EVERYONE - if you can U/L your stuff to Nurser's FTP site, so it's all in one centeralized location, that will make my life a wee bit easier. I know Bunny has the stuff on disk, but due to the time constraints, I'd like to gt some of this stuff loaded into the computer here before he and FoxTick get here.
