nursers
So folks, can I ask what everyone's availability is over next 24-36 hours? Shars has been working her butt off getting charities / media interest, and wraub is now doing same. This means we need a finished track as soon as feasible. So you guys ready to lay down some tracks as soon as we get chord chart and bpm? Bunny Knutson
I gauged the BPM at about 133.6, so we could just go ahead and use 133 if that's cool with everyone. I could put together a click track with sampled drums as a guide track for everyone to record to. I 'll try to get that finished this afternoon, and post it by early this evening. https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/

Chris.
So.. to every body who has offered, when the click track emerges, everyone feel free to use it and mix with it, and get your bit in Wav 16 bit, [shortened using shorten] , or into a midi (track, is this correct? bunny?) and send it off. All deadlines for this to be what? (thinking out loud.. its ten to five Forum Time now so..) are we talking 12 hours? http://www.faceoffriendship.org/fof_banner_468.gif

Sylver
I'll be home from work in about 4 hours, and I'm off until next week after that, so I'm pretty available. I really don't know what to put here.

Bunny/Phil can then load our bass lines and fade up/down as they see fit.. thoughts?Cool, that works. I threw my hat in for bass playing(because I figured that's where I'd be needed), but I'm pretty much a utility player. I can step in anywhere I'm needed. Guitar, bass, vox(backing or otherwise, though Ted has a better voice, IMO), looping(the creation of), sequencing, drum and percussion programming, whatever. I just want to help best I can, so if you want to lay down the low down, go for it. I really don't know what to put here.

Bunny Knutson
Yeah, Billster, we may need some of your lyrics and/or musical parts. Is it OK if we use them? I just cross-posted the following in the Mixing/Mastering thread: Here is a click track with drum sounds for people to play along with. Fear - click track. <---CLONK IT! It's a 133 bpm. It has one measure of silence at the beginning, then the intro click starts. The click has two measures (eight clicks) included before the eight measures (32 clicks) of the intro. That sounds complicated, but it's not. The form is exactly like Tedster's demo. I can add a scratch guitar later tonight if my power deosn't go out. We're expecting a heavy rain storm here this evening, so I may be forced offline. It occurred to me that we don't have a middle section (aka "bridge" or "middle eight") for this song yet, and so the click track reflects this. I gotta go eat. I'll be back later this evening, if my power doesn't go out in this storm. https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/
Tedster
I hadn't envisioned a middle eight as of yet. Sometimes, unless they hit you over the head, if the song doesn't want one, don't force one on it. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

Gruuve
Tedster, Force, Chris...all you folks...nice work. OK, I've downloaded Tedster's last post (the MP3 file created by Force), and I'm going to create a bass line, record it, and I'll post it on my FTP site as a WAV file with bass only that is perfectly in sync with what Force has posted. Is that what I should work from? If you guys decide to use the bass line, great, if you don't, I was happy to contribute anyway. It seems we already have a good drum track. I could also record some percussion for this if anyone thinks it would be a good idea? I've got djembe, bongo's, tamborine, maraccas, etc. I'm thinking djembe might be a good fit. I may run with that under the same guidelines...use it if you like it. Thanks, Dave Old bass players never die, they just buy lighter rigs. - Tom Capasso, 11/9/2006
Bunny Knutson
There's a click-track (sequenced drums) posted a few posts above. Everything at this point should be recorded along to that track. Here's Ted's chord chart (from another thread): D ...A ...Bm ...E... Em... A... F#m...G . A (G & 2 A 3 & 4 &) D... A... Bm... E... G... A... D... D... Chorus... G . G/F# A... D . D/C# Bm. Bm/A E ... A... F#m... G.G/F# Em... A... Bm... E... G... E... G... A... Bunny Knutson
That's fine, Ted. I'm OK with skipping the middle-eight to get the song done sooner. If a middle-eight hits me tonight, I'll follow the muse. Otherwise, the form is just fine how you have it, IMO. https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/

Bunny Knutson
Paul, are your wave files under 10 MB each? If so, you can email me your files (unless you're on dial-up). You can also use a program called Shorten to compress your 16 bit wave files if they're too big.
