emilemenasche
Both PC and Mac users are being treated to new operating systems. A software developer recently told me that most musicians are 1 to 2 years behind the curve when it comes to changing OS. Is that true? How many of you are using OS X or Windows XP? And Dave -- how will that affect Rocket performance?
DaveWalker
We have not qualified out software against XP yet, it should work, but none of our partners have done so either yet.... As far as OSX goes, we are looking at it .... As far as I go: I use Win98 on my PC muxic box, and OS9.0.4 on my Mac music box. Since the music is what counts, I'll stay with what works till there is a reason to update (I think a lot of musicians work the same way) But I did buy OSX the day it came out, and I have it on my laptop, and I use it a fair amount at work.... I love it, cant wait to get some audio apps for it and then, if it is stable enough, I'll put it on my music machine. ------------------ Dave Walker QA/Tech Support Manager Rocket Network http://www.mp3.com/dbwalker Rocket Network user name: Dave Dave Walker QA/Tech Support Manager Rocket Network http://www.mp3.com/dbwalker Rocket Network user name: Dave
Alndln
I still use 98se because the apps that don't use Asio or WDM are rendered to 16 bit or don't work at all (Gigasampler).I don't think were the ones behind the curve, were the ones whov'e been waiting impatiently for a long time for the driver and exe mess to get sorted out. BoldRuler
I'm Running MacOS8.6, why? Because my machine is an S900 Supermac and won't run OS9. It's enough to run PTFree, and still does pretty well for audio/graphics etc...RocketNetwork is a real asset to me, since getting together with other musicians is difficult. Happy tracking/mixing! Dave no matter where you go, there you are... http://johnnypistolaband.com
nursers
I use 9.0.4 on my iBook with Logic Rocket and Reason I use 9.1 on my G4/533 with Cubase VST 5, Pro Tools Digi 001, Reason etc. Both work with rocket beautifully. ------------------ www.mp3.com/thirdstoreystory The Keyboard Chronicles Podcast Check out your fellow forumites in an Apple Music playlist Check out your fellow forumites in a Spotify playlist My Music: Stainless Fields
