Here's Why We Don't Need to Discuss Religion Any More!

Recommended Posts

I'm going to put an end to the religious questions (is Islam/Christianity/etc. bad, or good, violent or peaceful, etc.) once and for all by proposing a concept that I think no one can disagree with. Any religion is a peaceful religion IF INTERPRETED BY PEACEFUL PEOPLE. Any religion is a violent religion IF INTERPRETED BY VIOLENT PEOPLE. This is why you have the apparent contradictions inherent in any religion. Religion creates no actions *in and of itself.* It is how people interpret the religion (whose documents have usually been distorted through time anyway) that creates actions, both positive and negative. So, let's forget about debating religion. As always, the problem falls on individual people. I have a corollary to this: Any system of government works IF PEOPLE ARE GOOD. No system of government can work IF PEOPLE ARE BAD. It's up to PEOPLE, not a government, doctrine, or religion, to save or destroy the world.

On this message board I have learned not to judge people by which side they take on religion, but by how much anger they seem to have towards the other side. It gets depressing to thing that people seem to hate you because you believe in something, you don't believe in something, or what you belive in is just a bit different. Good riddence to those posts. heh...indeed...we definitly have our share of bad people, it could be argued (right or wrong) that we have more than any country but what would be the point. :) Regardless...only a very small percentage of the human race are directly responsible for most of the bad things.
Originally posted by halljams:
Originally posted by KHAN: Cops kill people."
So do bears.
BEAR WARNING.... California State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the Yosemite and Mammoth areas. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.
