Cowbell
Lately, I've been listening to a band called Guster. In case you haven't heard of them, they're a trhee piece out of Boston who play mainly acoustic sets, and their drummer 99% of the time plays something other than the "traditional" drumset. This is completely new to me, and I'm sorry if I'm posting something that's been here before. I find what this guy does so amazing. His name is Brian Rosenworcel, and he basically learned to play with sticks about 2 years ago. Wraps his hands with hockey tape before shows. He's been playing with Guster for the past 15 years however. His usual set up, taken off of a fan site is : LP tumbadora, LP Giovanni series requinto, 12" Remo djembe, 14" Remo djembe, 12" LP djembe, LP Generation II bongos (2) Seems like a really expensive set... But what this badn does really interests me, and I would absolutely love to be able to play this kind of music. I'm really interested in classic rock, but this stuff just sounds so well organized and interesting. Is there any way that I could basically get the same general idea of his sound while not spending $450 on a tumbadora? Any comments on the band at all, if you've heard them? If you have a high speed connection, you could vist their website at Guster.com , and then by clicking the play audio button at the top left of the screen. My favorite song I would recommend to you would be "Barrel of a Gun." Sorry, not trying to spam, but asking opinions, and hopefully turning you onto a new an interesting band. http://guster.net/pix/files/guster_brian_1.jpg
