fet
I have no money for a practice pad; but an old mouse pad seems to have the right bounce - experienced players, does this make sense?
offramp
Yes, it does...I 'discovered' this myself a couple of years ago while at the computer. The only real drawback is durability, but since they're so cheap, who cares? Just make sure you get one of the soft, poly-woven top ones (like CompUsa gives away), as opposed to the plastic-topped ones. I've upped my standards; now, up yours. djarrett
Fet: This is what we call multi-functionality! I have two mouse pads. One on my right for mousing! The other on my left for my weaker extremety (ala ... the left drumpad!) DJ
alexclaber
Couldn't you use one of the plastic-topped ones upside down? (that's the type we have free at work) Alex Barefaced Ltd - ultra lightweight, high ouput, toneful bass cabs
offramp
Sure, but it would depend on a couple of things: 1) The surface you're sitting the pad on. If it's too smooth, the the pad will likely scoot around. 2) The composition of the plastic pad's underside. If it's too fragile, you'll kill it in no time. This would be a marvellous time to find a box or ten of custom notepads from a failed dotcom... I've upped my standards; now, up yours.
DC
In the olden days, I saw many a drummer practicing on a towel on a counter top. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
Chip McDonald
So has anyone tried putting a trigger under a mouse pad to work with a drum module like DMPro...? I suppose not...
